The standard Legamax uses the same 50.8mm pipe and 110mm tip as the Legamax Sports but with additional absorption packing in the muffler body, reducing sound level to approximately 88–89 dB(A) at 1m at WOT. This is approximately 2 dB quieter than the Legamax Sports and approximately 4 dB quieter than the Hi-Power SPEC-L2, the quietest cat-back option in HKS's FT86 exhaust lineup. For reference, a 3 dB reduction represents approximately half the perceived loudness to the human ear.
