HKS HM Touring-Height Adjustable Spring - 2020+ A90 Supra
HM Touring Height Adjustable Spring Kit for the 2020+ GR Supra
The HKS HM Touring Height Adjustable Spring Kit for the 2020+ Toyota GR Supra is a spring-based lowering solution that works with the factory adaptive dampers rather than replacing them. The HM Touring approach is specifically designed for drivers who want a lower ride height and improved spring rate without moving to a full coilover system. The factory adaptive damper technology is retained, which preserves the OEM adaptive response while benefiting from HKS's spring calibration.
Specs & Highlights
- Works with factory adaptive damper system
- Lowers ride height while retaining OEM dampers
- Improved spring rate over factory units
- Height adjustable
- Full kit front and rear
- Fitment: 2020+ Toyota GR Supra (A90)
5.0/4.5 kgf/mm Rates and 200mm/170mm Free Length
The HM Touring springs are rated at 5.0 kgf/mm (280 lbf/in) front and 4.5 kgf/mm (252 lbf/in) rear, a moderate increase over the Supra's factory adaptive spring equivalent rates. Ride height drop is approximately 20–30mm at the front and 15–25mm at the rear depending on ride height adjuster position. The spring free length is 200mm front and 170mm rear, designed to work within the OEM damper stroke without coil bind. Spring rate progression is linear, providing predictable response throughout the damper travel range.
Working Within the Factory Damper Architecture
The A90 Supra's adaptive damper system is one of its more sophisticated factory features and replacing it with fixed-rate dampers represents a real tradeoff for street driving. The HM Touring springs allow you to lower the car and improve the spring rate without that tradeoff. The adaptive system continues to modulate damping based on road conditions and driving mode while the HKS springs provide a lower, more controlled platform.
Alignment Required, Oil Volume Unchanged
The height adjustment range is more limited than a full coilover system. You are working within the travel range of the OEM damper, but for a street-focused build where the factory suspension technology is valued, the HM Touring kit is the appropriate solution. Four-wheel alignment after installation is required.
The FT Breakdown
The HM Touring spring kit is HKS's recommendation for Supra owners who want the visual and handling improvement of a lower, stiffer setup without sacrificing the adaptive damper system. It is the right solution for the driver who values the Supra's technology and wants to build on it rather than replace it. The 5.0/4.5 kgf/mm rates at nearly linear progression across the factory damper stroke are what make the HM Touring feel responsive without the jarring over-sprung quality of a coilover-rate spring running against a soft damper. HKS calculated these rates specifically for the factory damper's travel envelope, which is the difference between a spring kit that works correctly and one that feels either too stiff or too floaty depending on the corner.
