HKS Hi-Power Spec L2 Cup Exhaust - 2022-2026 Subaru BRZ / Toyota GR86
HKS Hi-Power Spec L2 Cup Exhaust for the 2022-2026 Subaru BRZ / Toyota GR86
The HKS Hi-Power Spec L2 Cup Exhaust for the 2022-2026 Subaru BRZ / Toyota GR86 is a cup racing specification exhaust for the FA24 second-gen platform. The Hi-Power SPEC-L2 muffler design delivers HKS's most refined single-exit exhaust character for the platform. Improved mid-range response, defined exhaust note under load, appropriate sound level for street use.

63.5mm Pipe, 96 dB(A), Cup Racing Specification
The Cup Exhaust SPEC-L2 for the 2022+ platform uses a 63.5mm (2.5 inch) main pipe, larger than the standard SPEC-L2 at 60.5mm, to reduce exhaust back pressure at the higher engine loads generated in circuit racing. This additional flow capacity is calibrated for the Cup racing application where the FA24 is held at full throttle for extended periods; on a street car the difference is minimal below 6,000 rpm but becomes meaningful in the upper 1,000 rpm of the rev range. Sound level at WOT is approximately 96 dB(A), the loudest of the SPEC-L2 variants.
Larger Pipe for Extended Full-Throttle Track Use
The SPEC-L2 designation represents HKS's refined evolution of the SPEC-L, with revised internal geometry for improved mid-range exhaust pulse and more consistent sound character across the RPM range. Installation is a direct cat-back bolt-on using OEM flange connections and hangers.
Loudest of the SPEC-L2 Variants, Race-Use Focused
Verify the correct part number for your chassis generation. The AT131 is for FA20 first-generation applications; the AT130 is for FA24 second-generation applications. The exhaust routing and geometry differ between generations.
The FT Breakdown
The HKS SPEC-L2 is the benchmark single-exit exhaust for the FT86 and GR86 platform family. Whether you are on the first or second generation, the SPEC-L2 provides the right balance of sound, performance improvement, and daily drivability. The 63.5mm pipe and 96 dB(A) Cup exhaust is the specification HKS determined was appropriate for sustained full-throttle circuit use on the FA24 platform. At a track day or time trial, the driver is spending more time at WOT than in any other driving context, and the increased pipe diameter ensures the exhaust system does not become a restriction at that operating point. On the street, the additional 3 dB versus the SPEC-L2 is noticeable and appropriate for a product called the Cup exhaust.
